Sutherland 5 Year Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Thompson Bros., made from single malts from Clynelish, Dornoch and Brora. This 2024 edition was bottled that year at 48.5% ABV and is limited to 1020 bottles.
The nose is hay and honey, pear crumble and praline, with sea salt, a Tunnock's caramel bar, dried mango, gorse, meadow flowers and caramelised mandarins. The palate is velvety, with sweet corn flakes, lemongrass, minerals, red fruit, candle wax, goat's milk and Fukushima peaches. The finish is long, with umeshu, white pepper, celery and gooseberry, and a salty, waxy, creamy quality.
