Talisker – 175th Anniversary Limited Edition (70cl)

This is a limited edition Island single malt from Talisker, released in 2005 to mark the 175th anniversary of the distillery on the Isle of Skye. It comes in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting, and some of the casks used were over 20 years old. The result combines aged oak with smoky, sweet and medicinal flavours. The nose is deeply sweet with the familiar smoky, maritime Talisker character. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, opening sweetly and growing softly smoky. The finish is warming, with sweet pepper and honey.
