This is a 40 year old Talisker, the first release in the Bodega Series, a run of sherry cask finishes inspired by the historic wineries of the Sherry Triangle. Talisker is a distillery on the island of Skye.
It was made in collaboration with Delgado Zuleta, one of the world's oldest sherry makers. The whisky spent a three month finishing period in butts that had held Amontillado sherry, itself at least 40 years old. A total of 2,000 bottles were released.
It is described as balancing restrained smoke with pronounced fruit.
