Talisker – NAD Special Release 2023 (70cl)

Talisker is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, and this is its 2023 Special Release, a single malt with no age statement. It is sold in a 70cl bottle. The NAD designation gives the blenders freedom in choosing the casks, so the release is built around the distillery's maritime character. The nose has strong sea salt, peppery spice, gentle peat smoke, dried fruit and a little vanilla. The palate starts sweet with dark berries and caramel, then turns to black pepper and smoke, with a rich, oily texture. The finish is long and warming, with sea salt, white pepper and bonfire smoke.
