Talisker Storm is a single malt from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. It joined the distillery's core range in 2013 as a permanent expression.
The whisky is matured in a mix of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak ex-sherry casks, which bring out the maritime, peaty and peppery side of the Talisker style.
The nose is smoky, with charred wood, smouldering embers, a little iodine, dried fruit, toffee and cracked black pepper. Peat smoke and sea salt lead on the palate, with caramel and ripe berries beneath, and the finish is long and warming.
