This Talisker is part of the 2023 Diageo Special Releases "Spirited Xchange" collection. Master Blender Dr. Stuart Morrison selected it as a tribute to the Portuguese caravels that carried seafarers across the world. Talisker was founded in 1830 on the Isle of Skye.
It matured in first fill barrels, then was finished in a combination of Ruby, White and Tawny Port casks. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.7% without chill filtration.
The nose is maritime, with sea air, oyster shell, salt and sand dune over a spicy, peaty base, alongside pears, apples, peaches, cherries, white grape and dark fruit.
