This is Tamdhu 12 Year Old, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% abv in a 70cl bottle. The distillery matures its spirit entirely in sherry oak casks.
Tamdhu was built in 1897 by a group of blenders headed by William Grant, with Charles Doig as architect, and Highland Distillers bought it in 1899.
The nose brings iced cinnamon rolls, orange boiled sweets and sweet oak with raisins, with a faint hint of mint. The palate is silky, with banana, berry jam, malt biscuit and sherry oak. The finish is long and balanced, with spice, dried fruit and Scottish tablet.
