This is a single malt from Tamdhu, bottled at 48% ABV as Distinction No. 3 of the Quercus Alba series. It is matured in American oak, which gives Tamdhu a profile distinct from its European oak casks.
The oak has a tight grain and is toasted, then seasoned with Oloroso sherry. The cask travels to the distillery and is filled with new-make spirit.
Over time the spirit and cask develop vanilla and rich fruit flavours, along with an amber colour.
