An 18 year old Speyside single malt from Tamdhu, distilled in 2007 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes from a single bourbon barrel, #8254, and is bottled at 54.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barrel produced 126 bottles.
The Connoisseurs Choice series is known for independently bottling carefully selected individual casks to show distillery character and cask influence.
The nose is syrupy pears, passion fruit and vanilla pod, with lime zest, pecans and charred oak. Sweet tangerine and banana lead the palate, giving way to butterscotch, desiccated coconut and cracked black pepper. The finish is spicy, with liquorice.
