Teaninich – 10 Years Old Koval Rye Benchmark (51.5%)

A 10-year-old single malt from Teaninich, the Highland distillery in Alness, bottled by Murray McDavid for its Autumn 2023 Benchmark collection at 51.5% ABV. The spirit was matured in bourbon hogsheads, then moved for around four years into small first-fill rye whiskey casks from Koval, the craft distillery in Chicago. At 110 litres, these casks are much smaller than a standard hogshead, so the spirit has greater contact with the oak. The whisky is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, and 1,600 bottles were released.
