Malaga hogshead finish
This is an 11 year old Highland single malt distilled at Teaninich and bottled by the independent bottler James Eadie. After its main maturation it spent eleven months in Malaga hogsheads made from European oak. It is bottled at 48.3% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The finish adds the sweetness of wine casks to the fresh, waxy character of the distillery. James Eadie's interest in ex-fortified-wine casks goes back to rediscovered historic warehouse ledgers, and this finish follows that tradition. The nose brings apricot, peach, mango and papaya, with pronounced beeswax and marzipan, and green tea and cut grass behind. The palate is creamy and full, with Greek yoghurt, oats with honey and white grapes, then burnt caramel and chamomile. The finish recalls cheesecake with matcha, thick cream and apricots.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
