Teaninich – 15 Years Old Private Reserve (55.3%)

This is a 15 year old Teaninich single malt, distilled on 18th February 2010 at the distillery in Alness, on the Cromarty Firth. Cane and Grain selected it for their Private Reserve collection of single casks, and it is bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.3% ABV, in natural colour and without chill filtration. Only 290 bottles were filled. On 6th October 2023 the whisky was re-racked into a first-fill barrique that previously held wine from Château Haut-Brion, and it spent 13 months there. The clean, grassy malt sits beneath the influence of the wine cask. It is described as rich, velvety and viscous, with a slightly waxy finish.
