Teaninich – 17 Year Old 2004 Lady of the Glen (56.3%)

A 17 year old Teaninich single malt, distilled on 26 January 2004 and bottled on 23 August 2021 by Lady of the Glen at a natural cask strength of 56.3%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The cask gave 259 bottles. The whisky spent the last two years or more in an ex-Tawny Port barrique, which adds red fruit and chocolate. The nose is sweet and nutty, with sugared almonds, lemon drops and a hint of chocolate orange, then ginger, nutmeg and Danish pastry. On the palate, toasted baguette with Nutella gives way to blueberry and blackberry. The finish begins with chocolate mint, butter toffee, vanilla and flower honey, then dries to tobacco, fennel and roasted peanuts.
