This is a 17 year old Teaninich single malt from the 2019 Special Release, a limited edition in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 55.9% ABV. Teaninich is a Highland distillery, and this is the first release in the series from the original distiller's stocks. The whisky comes from refill American oak hogsheads and ASBs filled in 1999.
The nose is fresh and grassy, like spring meadows, with cool dunnage, sweet citrus, white grapes and golden syrup. The palate opens sweet and syrupy, with limoncello, a little wax, dried tarragon and green olive. It finishes dry, and a few drops of water bring out the floral side.
