This is a 17 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Teaninich, a distillery in the Coastal Highland region. It is a 2019 Special Release, a first in this series drawn from the original distiller's stocks, bottled at a cask strength of 55.9% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads and ASBs, all filled in 1999.
The nose is fresh and grassy, with spring meadow, citrus, white grape and golden syrup. On the palate it is syrupy and sweet at first, with limoncello and a little wax, then dry herbal notes like tarragon and a hint of green olive. The finish is dry.
