A five-year-old Teaninich single malt from the Highlands, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle for the Glen Cooper series from Aceo Spirits. It is not chill-filtered.
The whisky matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks, which give vanilla and toffee notes, and spent its five years in a traditional dunnage warehouse on the Coleburn Distillery site. A fine touch of peat smoke sits alongside grassy, green tea character.
On the nose there are sugared citrus peel, juicy apricot and a hint of sponge cake. The palate brings strong malt, almonds and green apple, then chopped herbs and black pepper. The finish carries chocolate-coated peanuts, honey and lemon.
