Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey (46%)

A single grain Irish whiskey from Teeling, made on column stills from a mash that is mainly maize. It spent five years maturing in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks, which give it a reddish colour. It is bottled at 46%, without colouring or chill-filtration. Jack Teeling presents it as a way of showing single grain whiskey in its own right. The nose is lightly sweet with spice and fruit. On the palate, spice comes first, followed by red berries, grapes and dry tannins. The finish is dry, with oak and spice.
