Teerenpeli – 10 Year Old Barley Wine Cask (50cl, 54.9%)

Teerenpeli 10 Year Old Barley Wine Cask is a Finnish single malt made to mark 30 years of the Teerenpeli brewery. It matured for eight years in American ex-bourbon oak, then spent two more in casks that had held the house's own barley wine, linking the brewery and the distillery. It is made from Finnish barley malted locally, with groundwater from Salpausselkä. It is bottled at 54.9% ABV in a 50cl bottle, without chill-filtration or colouring. The nose is honeycomb and flower nectar with ripe pear. The palate is full-bodied, with honey, sweet spice cake, pronounced malt and spicy oak. The finish is long, with lively pepper and a hint of vanilla.
