Teerenpeli – Palo Peated Sherry Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Palo is a lightly peated Finnish single malt from Teerenpeli, matured entirely in ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. The casks rest in the distillery's sea-container warehouses in Lahti, so the Finnish climate is part of the maturation. It was released in autumn 2022 for the distillery's twentieth anniversary. The 46% bottling strength was chosen during a live-streamed blind tasting with Teerenpeli brand ambassadors. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose brings cherries and plums with gentle smoke. On the palate, dried fruit meets peat and a touch of liquorice, and the long finish ends on figs and walnuts.
