A rye whiskey from Templeton, the 2022 stout cask finish and release no. 4 in the brand's annual limited cask finish series.
The rye matured for six years in flame-charred American oak barrels, then spent three months in casks that had held an imperial stout brewed with coffee and chocolate and aged in bourbon barrels.
The nose offers roasted chocolate, creamy cocoa and dried apricot. On the palate, sweet malt and roasted barley meet black cherries and toasted almonds, with subtle coffee over rye pepper and spice. The finish is long, with creamy roasted coffee and cocoa.
