That Boutique-y Whisky Company Blended Grain 30 Year Old (50cl, 45.8%)

This is a 30 year old blended grain Scotch whisky from the Core Range of That Boutique-y Whisky Company, bottled at 45.8% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is a marriage of refill ex-Bourbon hogsheads and ex-Sherry octaves. It is released in small batches of around 1,000 litres, at natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose is honeycomb, red grapes and buttery shortbread, with waxy orange peel, polished oak and delicate floral notes. The palate is thick and textured, with butterscotch, freshly baked cookies, soft chocolate, creamy toffee, dried fruit and vanilla. The finish is smooth and lingering, with cedar, mature oak and a touch of white pepper.
