This is a 16 year old Laphroaig bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company at 45.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, as part of its Label Editions collection.
It is a vatting of single malt matured in refill hogsheads and then finished in an oloroso sherry barrique, giving creamy malt and pungent peat with earthy nuts, floral tea and salted lemon.
The nose offers strawberry jam, walnuts, cigar smoke, smoky soy, polished oak and liquorice over medicinal peat. The palate brings creamy malt, roasted chestnuts, preserved lemon and black pepper. The finish has pink grapefruit zest, vanilla, pepper and peat smoke.
