The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 13 is a Speyside single malt bottled at 59.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill filtration. It was put together under Master Distiller Billy Walker.
The vatting draws on four cask types: Pedro Ximénez sherry, Oloroso sherry, Rioja red wine and American virgin oak. Pedro Ximénez makes up just over half, with the rest split roughly evenly between the other three.
The nose has mocha, cinnamon bark, crystallised ginger, manuka honey and treacle sponge. The palate brings cocoa, salted caramel and thick honey, then blood orange and baking spices. The finish is of molasses tart, fig syrup and glazed blackberries.
