The GlenAllachie – 15 Year Old Scottish Virgin Oak Cask (48%)

This is a 15 year old single malt from The GlenAllachie, taken from Batch 2 of its Virgin Oak Series. It was bottled at 48%, with natural colour and without chill filtering. The whisky had additional maturation in casks made from Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus petrae) grown on the Atlantic coast. The wood was air dried for 36 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level. Only a handful of casks were used. It is described as full of vanilla and butterscotch, balanced by cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
