A 12 year old The Glenlivet from the 1990s, full gold in colour.
The nose mixes soot, gravel, ashes, hay and smoke with overripe fruit, followed by beeswax, pollen, old wood polish and floral notes. The palate is bold and firm, smoky and raisiny, with plenty of marmalade and honey, plus orange blossom and marzipan.
The finish is very long, with more marmalade and baklava.
