The Glenlivet 13 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 1824 and was among the first to be officially licensed.
Maturation takes place in a combination of American oak and European sherry casks.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with ripe pear, apple and peach, plus vanilla, honey and lightly roasted nut. The palate is soft, with vanilla and caramel from the American oak meeting dried raisin and fig, with a little spice and oak. The finish is medium in length, fading slowly with mildly sweet tones.
