The Glenlivet Groundbreaker Chapter 1: The Journey Inward is a Speyside single malt and the first chapter in the Groundbreaker series. It matures in specially designed casks that sit partly in the ground, which keeps the temperature steadier and shapes how the wood and spirit interact. The nose is typically described as fresh apple and pear with soft vanilla, light caramel, floral touches, honey and gentle spice. On the palate come ripe apple, soft citrus, creamy vanilla and light toffee, with cinnamon and a little nutmeg. The finish is medium to long, soft and lightly sweet, with fruity and creamy notes.
