The Glenrothes – 41 Years 1979 Single Cask #13916 Prestige Edition No.2 (70cl, 47.7%)

This is a 41-year-old single cask Speyside malt from The Glenrothes, part of its Prestige Edition. The cask was filled in 1979 and the whisky bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 47.7% ABV. It matured in a refill hogshead and yielded 187 bottles, each individually numbered. The colour comes only from the cask, with no additives. The bottle comes in an oak box with black leather, an oak plinth and leather coasters. The nose is fresh peach, orange peel and a hint of sweet aniseed. The palate is fresh fruit, light oak and a fragrant sweetness, and the finish is fragrant and sweet.
