The Lakes Bal Masque is an English single malt from The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria, bottled at 54% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to The Whiskymaker's Editions, a series of one-off releases that step away from the distillery's sherry-led house style.
The whisky was matured only in French oak, which the distillery says brings a mysterious, seductive character through the tannins and wood extractives.
Orchard fruits mingle on the palate with sweet spices, raisins, vanilla and nutmeg, with background notes of toasted almonds and incense.
