The Lakes Distillery – Signature Single Malt (70cl, 47%)

Signature is the first permanent expression from The Lakes Distillery, an English single malt in a 70cl bottle at 47% ABV. It follows more than a decade of limited and experimental releases and is the whisky the distillery considers its house style. The malt is matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, made from both European and American oak. It is bottled at natural colour and is non-chill filtered. The nose brings polished oak, leather, dried figs, sultanas, dark chocolate and orange zest. On the palate come baking spices, treacly sweetness, stewed orchard fruit and citrus, before a long, warming finish full of fruit.
