Bal Masque is a Whiskymaker's Edition from The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria, bottled at 54% ABV. It was matured only in French oak, whose tannins and wood extractives give it a mysterious, seductive character.
As a Whiskymaker's Edition, it departs from the sherry-led house style of The Lakes.
Orchard fruits come with sweet spices, raisins, vanilla and nutmeg, and there are quieter notes of toasted almonds and incense.
