The Lakes Whiskymaker's Editions Cascade (70cl, 46.6%)

The Lakes Whiskymaker's Editions Cascade is a single malt from The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria, bottled at 46.6% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and at natural colour. It is built from a mix of casks rather than the sherry-led style the distillery is best known for, and was among the first releases by whiskymaker Sarah Burgess, who joined in January 2023. Only 1,002 bottles were released, each individually numbered. The nose is fresh-cut flowers, stone fruit, digestive biscuit and a wisp of coffee. The palate brings wood spice, vanilla, crème caramel and cracked black pepper, with a long finish of coffee caramel sweetness.
