The Legendary Dark Silkie Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

The Legendary Dark Silkie is the second release in the Silkie collection, an Irish whiskey from Donegal bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It draws on folk tales of the silkie seals, traditionally told by the glow of a peat fire. The whiskey is peated to 22ppm, triple distilled and matured in sherry casks, giving a sweet, smoky character. The nose is fresh apple and pear with dry spiced smoke and new oak. The palate is soft, with salted caramel sweetness, pipe tobacco, liquorice and dark chocolate, giving way to warm toffee and pear. The finish is warming and elegant, with hints of malty smoke.
