The Macallan 007 Diamonds Are Forever is an 18-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled at 45.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. This limited edition marks the 55th anniversary of the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.
It was distilled in 2007 and matured in bespoke hybrid casks made from sherry-seasoned European and American oak, together with American oak casks that previously held red wine. It is the first Macallan release to use red wine cask-influenced distillate.
The nose is polished oak, vanilla, figs and apricots. The palate is creamy, with caramel, cocoa, roasted coffee, dark berries and baking spices. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, toasted oak, espresso and walnut.
