The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is matured for at least 12 years in a combination of American and European oak casks seasoned with sherry. The American oak adds vanilla and light caramel, while the European oak brings dried fruit and darker spice.
The nose is butterscotch, toffee apple, vanilla cream and candied orange over fresh-cut oak. The palate is honeyed and smooth, with wood spice, citrus zest, raisins and caramel. The finish is warm and sweet, of medium length, with lingering oak and a hint of dried fruit.
