This is The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask, a Highland single malt bottled at 40% vol in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spends its twelve years maturing in American and European sherry casks, and the contents of the two are then married together. It was first planned for the Asian market and reached Western Europe in 2018.
The nose offers candied apple and orange, custard, oak and cream. The palate brings sweet honey and oak with citrus, raisin and caramel. The finish is long, warming, sweet and slightly dry.
