The Macallan – 12 Year Old Double Cask (70cl)

This is a 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky from The Macallan, in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in sherry-seasoned casks made from both American and European oak. The American oak is credited with vanilla and citrus, while the European oak adds dried fruit and spice. The colour is golden honey. The nose offers creamy butterscotch, candied orange and vanilla custard with a touch of oak. On the palate it is smooth and medium-bodied, with baked apple, sultana, cinnamon and gentle spice. The finish is sweet and warming, with oak and fruit lingering.
