The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of 12 years in sherry-seasoned Spanish oak casks from Jerez. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Every cask is seasoned with oloroso sherry and approved by Macallan's Master Whisky Maker before it is filled. Only sherry casks are used, which gives dried fruit, Christmas spice and a chocolate-edged finish.
The nose offers raisin, sultana and dried orange peel with vanilla and a trace of wood smoke. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with sherry sweetness, baking spice, ginger and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with lingering oak and sherry fruit.
