The Macallan – 15 Year Double Cask (75cl, 43%)

The Macallan 15 Year Double Cask is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of 15 years in sherry-seasoned oak casks of two origins. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle, with natural colour. One part of the maturation uses sherry-seasoned American oak, the other sherry-seasoned European oak. All of the oak was seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. The American oak is described as contributing vanilla, butterscotch and orchard fruit, and the European oak dried fruit, oak spice and structure. The flavour descriptor on the box reads dried fruits, toffee and vanilla.
