The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is the 2025 annual release, a single malt distilled in Speyside and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is presented at natural colour, its amber honey hue coming entirely from the oak.
The whisky combines spirit from American and European oak casks. The American oak is taken to Spain, where bespoke casks are hand-crafted and seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry, then shipped to Scotland and filled with new make spirit. After 18 years the Whisky Mastery Team combines spirit from both types of cask, giving a balanced, warm and sweet malt.
