The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt matured for eighteen years in sherry-seasoned casks made from both American and European oak. It is an annual release rather than a limited edition.
The two oak types give a balanced whisky that keeps The Macallan's signature character.
The nose is dried fruit, ginger, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is rich toffee, orange peel, warm spice and soft sherry sweetness. The finish is long, smooth and gently spiced, with lingering oak.
