The Macallan – 18 Year Old Sherry Oak (75cl, 43%)

The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt from The Macallan at Easter Elchies, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. It is matured for a minimum of 18 years exclusively in sherry-seasoned Spanish and American oak casks. The Macallan has the Spanish casks made to its own specification, filled with Oloroso sherry and then shipped to Scotland for whisky maturation. The nose combines dried fruit, orange peel, ginger, rich oak and chocolate. Dried fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and warming wood come through on the palate, and the finish is long, with lingering spice and dried fruit.
