The Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt matured for a minimum of 18 years in hand-picked, sherry-seasoned European oak casks from Jerez, Spain. This 2018 annual release is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle, with natural colour, and was the first to come in the taller, sloped-shoulder bottle and a black diamond-textured box.
On the nose it is described as Jaffa oranges, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, dried fruits and warm leather. The palate is rich and spicy, with more orange, vanilla and burning logs, and the full finish brings smoky sherry, ginger, dried fruits and seasoned oak.
