The Macallan Ruby is the darkest expression in the Macallan 1824 Series, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Its deep ruby colour is entirely natural, coming from maturation in sherry-seasoned European oak casks, with no artificial colouring.
The nose opens with European oak, rich dried fruits and a trickle of treacle. The palate has ginger, nutmeg and resin, then orange, sultana and raisin, with a brief note of clove. The finish is long and lingering.
