The Macallan 25 Year Old Anniversary Malt is a Speyside single malt from the 2002 release, matured entirely in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.
The casks are Oloroso and Fino. The colour is natural, taken from the wood alone, with no caramel colouring added.
The nose is dried fruits, orange peel, ginger and cinnamon. On the palate come Christmas cake, dark chocolate, dried figs, walnut and worn leather. The finish is long and warming, with spice, oak and lingering sherry sweetness.
