The Macallan 25 Year Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt from The Macallan, here in its annual 2023 release and part of the Sherry Oak Collection. It was matured for 25 years in hand picked European oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
It is bottled at 43% ABV with natural colour, in a 750ml bottle.
The colour is a rich mahogany. The nose has dried orange slices, raisins, sultanas and apricot with ginger syrup, vanilla and oak. The palate is full bodied, with dried fruits, black cherries, dark chocolate, crystallised ginger and toasted almonds, and a whisper of wood smoke. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, oak and spice.
