A 25-year-old Speyside single malt from The Macallan, matured exclusively in sherry oak casks and sold in a 750ml bottle. The distillery sources its own sherry-seasoned oak from Jerez in Spain.
The colour is a deep amber, which comes naturally from the long time in sherry oak.
The nose combines dried fruits, smoke, chocolate orange, warm spice and a deep woody richness. On the palate it is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, dried fig, orange peel and cinnamon alongside a pronounced sherry sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with spice and fruit fading into lingering oak.
