A 30 year old single malt from The Macallan in Speyside, bottled at 43% ABV. It was matured exclusively in European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain, and it is the oldest core release in the distillery's Sherry Oak range.
The dark mahogany colour is natural, with no artificial colouring added. The distillery sources, seasons and prepares its own sherry casks before filling them.
Tasting notes point to old sherry, plum and orange peel on the nose. The palate is rich and layered, with deep sherry character and wood, alongside dried fruit, dark chocolate and warming spice.
