First Light is the 2025 edition of The Macallan's annual A Night on Earth series, which celebrates New Year gatherings. It was created with the artist Bonnie Brown, whose work inspired the sunrise colours of the packaging.
The single malt is made from sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon barrels, and comes in a 750ml bottle.
It is light amber in colour. The nose is vanilla, shortbread, citrus zest, soft oak and delicate sweetness. The palate brings creamy vanilla, buttered pastry, gentle spice, honey and toasted oak, and the finish is smooth, sweet and warming with hints of citrus and soft spice.
