The Macallan – A Night On Earth In Scotland (70cl, 40%)

The Macallan A Night on Earth in Scotland is a 40% single malt made around Hogmanay, in a 70cl bottle. It is drawn from American and European oak sherry seasoned casks together with American ex-bourbon barrels, aiming for a rich, shortbread-like character, with festive notes of dried orange and spice. The colour is a warm ember. The packaging carries abstract designs by Erica Dorn, in a colour palette that echoes the Hogmanay story. The nose offers vanilla, rich butter, baked apple, baking biscuits, plum and almond. The palate is softly velvety and sweet, like shortbread, with toasted marshmallow, dried oranges, fig and cinnamon, and the finish is medium.
